The Freedom Bracelet was Mia Tribe's Alpha Bracelet. Its straight-forward design, a rope with a handsome clasp, was created to allow women from the red light district of Athens, Greece, to have a quick “win.” They loved the sense of accomplishment its simple design offered. Even now, Freedom Bracelets are made at Mia Tribe in honor of those women, who were the first Mia Tribe jewelry makers. Mia Tribe's mission is to produce products that are local and ethically sourced while empowering the hands that make them. Through community development, their artisans are invited in to be trained, loved, and empowered to live as one new tribe. At each step they are identifying and supporting refugee families through product development. Products are produced in refugee camps, in half way housing, and in their workshop.
Mia means one. Syrian, Nigerian, Iraqi, Iranian and Kurdish all becoming one tribe in Thessaloniki, Greece.
